SPENCER; Janet M. (Lavoie) Vivier, 67, of 31 Clark St., died Saturday, September 14 at UMASS Memorial Hospital in Worcester.

She leaves a son, John A. Vivier and his wife Teresa of Penn Yan, N.Y., two sisters; Pauline Ellis of Worcester, Marcia E. Pottle and her husband Clarence of Spencer, 6 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her good friend and roommate of 32 years, Sharon Parmenter.

She was pre-deceased by three brothers and a sister.

She was born in Leominster, the daughter of Leon & Gladys (Robinson) Lavoie.

Janet was a machinist for 27 years working at the former Swiss Precision in Spencer which is now Worcester Gears and Racks, retiring in 2011.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Spencer.

A Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 17 at 7:00 P.M. in the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Calling hours will precede the Service from 5-7 P.M.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Please omit flowers.

SPENCER: Katherine T. Kaiser 21 of Woodside Rd., died Monday, Sept. 16 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

She was the daughter of Donna M. (Dusoe) Dansereau of Spencer and Earl Kaiser of Louisiana. She leaves her sister Kellyann R. Kaiser of Spencer, her grand parents Therese (Lacombe) Grogan Bell and Stuart Bell of Spencer with whom she lived, her god parents John Lacombe of Shrewsbury and Rhea Roy of Amesbury Village, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Katherine graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, Class of 2010, where she was a member of 2 honor programs in music. She later attended Anna Maria College in Paxton. Her life was full of music and hoped to become a music therapist at either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Boston Children’s Hospital. She twice performed in a musical group with Kenny Rogers, and also was cast in several performances at the Foothills Theater.

The family would like to acknowledge the caring staff of the 2nd. floor Critical Care Unit at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Katherine’s funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wachusett Reg. School Dist. Music Dept., in Memory of Katherine T. Kaiser, 1745 Main St., Jefferson, Ma. 01522.

SPENCER – Helen C. (Lyons) Noonan, 79, went home to The Lord peacefully on September 20, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her 11 children; James Noonan and his wife Jane of Westerly, RI, Catherine Durgin and her husband Daniel of Wells, ME, Karen White and her husband Patrick of Worcester, Michael Noonan and his wife Marybeth of Shrewsbury, Thomas Noonan and his wife Debra of Leominster, Timothy Noonan and his wife Christene of Holden, Robert Noonan and his wife Wendy of Chicago, IL, Julia Gaudette and her husband Philip of Spencer, Sean Noonan and his wife Lisa of Sturbridge, Joseph “Jay” Noonan and his husband Adam of Boston, and Mary Provost and her husband Jon of Charlton, 24 grandchildren; Jimmy and his husband Joshua, Ryan and his wife Leanne, Danny and his wife Sarah, Juliann, Kate, Kelly, Kevin, Shamus, Molly, Shaun, Eric, Jameson, Regan, Patrick, Alex, Melanie, Courtney, Connor, Caroline, Liam, Maggie, Hope, Emily and Erin and a great grandchild, Danny, her siblings: Raymond Lyons and his wife Pat, Robert Lyons and his wife Ruth, Edward Lyons and his wife Kathie, Michael Lyons and his wife Arlene, Theresa Herrick and her husband Jack and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband James M. Noonan in 2010.

Helen was born in Albany, NY, the daughter of the late Michael J. Lyons and Theresa (Mitchell) Lyons. She graduated from Vincentian High School in Albany, NY, and went on to attend St. Peter’s School of Nursing and later, after having her eleven children, graduated from David Hale Fanning School of Nursing in Worcester, MA.

The majority of her nursing career was spent at Saint Vincent Hospital on Vernon Hill in Worcester, MA. Helen began her career in the Pediatric Unit eventually becoming the Manager of Employee Health. She retired in 1996 carrying with her all the special friendships and bonds she had forged during her career where she considered the entire staff an extension of her family.

Many of her joys were realized in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She soon discovered with 24 grandchildren, she was actually busier in retirement. Helen had a unique ability to accept and tolerate all kinds of people but instilled in her children and grandchildren that you must stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.

She possessed a great spirit, attitude, and sense of humor throughout her entire life which will be deeply missed. She was a source of light to those who knew and loved her.

The funeral will be held Monday Sep. 23rd from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church Street, Spencer, MA. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Sunday Sep. 22nd from 2 to 6p.m.

SPENCER: Janice R. (Dumore) Leahy 68, of Hastings Rd., died Friday, Sept. 20 at The Meadows of Leicester.

She leaves her husband of 49 years, Paul W. Leahy, her son Mark W. Leahy and his wife Laura, her daughter Lisa M. Leahy and her fiancé Kent Vertucci, her mother Evelyn Contestabile and her husband Robert all of Spencer, her brother Herbert Dumore and his wife Madeline of N.Y, and her sister Donna VanGerven of Spencer, six grandchildren Matthew McNamara, Lindsey and Gabriel Leahy and Nicholas McNamara, Matthew and Megan Vertucci, several nieces and nephews.

Born in Worcester she was the daughter of the late Herbert Dumore, and later graduated from David Prouty High School. She was a cafeteria worker in the Spencer-E.Brookfield School System before retiring in 2002.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking and cooking and especially craft shows. Foremost was spending time with her beloved family.

Charlton: Arlynn T. “Tiny” (Taylor) MacDonald, 87, of 88 Masonic Home Road and formerly of Spencer died Monday, Sept. 23 at the Overlook Masonic Home.

Her husband Herbert C. MacDonald died in 1984. She leaves a nephew David Prue of Buffalo Junction, Va and a niece Sister Martha “Sharon M. Prue” of the Holy Nativity Convent in Brookline. She was pre-deceased by her sister Leslye L. “Biddy” Prue.

Tiny was born in Colonial Heights, VA, daughter of Arlynn O. and Jane (Avent) Taylor. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster and the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She was a Registered O.R. Surgical Nurse for 40 years at the Worcester Hahnemann Hospital retiring in 1988. She also was a teacher at the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing for many years.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 11:00 AM in J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Nativity Convent, 70 Codman Road, Brookline, MA 02445.

SPENCER: Phyllis Jane (Bowden) Hotz 84, of North Spencer Road , died peacefully Monday, Sept. 23rd at her home surrounded by family and dear friends after a long illness. She leaves her husband of 50 years, Charles F. Hotz; her two sons, Jonathan C. Hotz, and his wife Bethany Carlson of Rockport, and David P. Hotz, and his wife Amanda Eldridge of Charlton; her daughter, Priscilla Hotz, and her husband Thomas Tetreault of Southbridge; her six grandchildren, Christina Brown, Marissa Hotz, Zoe Tetreault, Jackson Tetreault, Henry Hotz and William Hotz; her great-granddaughter, Averie Tomey; her son-in-law, Nevin Miller and nieces, Linda Coningford and Jayne Tilden. She is predeceased by her daughter, Rebecca Hotzmiller in 2001 and her sister, Martha Hancock in 2006.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Philip K. and Esther (Brightman) Bowden. Jane attended Nasson College, Springvale, Maine earning bachelor’s degrees in Home Economics and Chemistry. She played field hockey and basketball for Nasson, sat first chair violin in the orchestra, sang in the choir, served as member of the Judicial Board, and Debate Team. She completed her graduate studies at the former Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and Anna Maria College, Paxton, Massachusetts.

Jane worked in the textile industry after college at Fernald-Sandford, Sanford, Maine. She worked in service of others as a 4H Club Agent in Franklin and Worcester Counties before marrying then counseling those with substance use disorders at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Spencer and Southbridge before retiring in 1993.

Jane was a longtime Girl Scout Leader and Camp Counselor, as well as den mother for her sons’ Cub Scout Troop. She volunteered tutoring children with learning disabilities in the Spencer School District, hosted children for the Fresh Air Fund for urban children, and hosted participants in the 4H International Exchange Program. She was a four decade long member of the First Congregational Church in North Brookfield where she sang alto in the choir, taught Sunday School, lead Pioneer Girls, and participated in Women’s Bible Study and Prayer Group. She loved camping, caring for animals, and was a great prankster. She was an accomplished sailor, seamstress, violinist, and culinarian.

Jane was blessed to remain living in her home despite battling Parkinson’s Disease for more than a decade. She was cared for by her husband and a group of dedicated women who became close family friends. The love, support and humor that Missy, Michele, Jill, Amanda, Yohanna, Stephanie, and Lisa brought to Jane’s life helped make her final years joyous and rich.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 28th at 1p.m. at the First Congregational Church of North Brookfield , 144 Main Street, North Brookfield. Burial of her ashes will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 28th in Worcester County Memorial Park , 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, September 27th from 5 to 7p.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terrace, Spencer www.morin-morrison.com

Spencer: Karen M. Bercume, a lifelong resident of Spencer, passed away on Monday, Sept. 23 having bravely faced cancer and the end of her life. Her family that she leaves behind to remember her always includes her sisters Cynthia Prouty, Linda Faucher and Debra Kelly, and her brother John Bercume. Additionally, she leaves family members Carol, Butch and John Kenerson of Spencer.

Karen was a generous and doting aunt to nephews Keith and Jamie Faucher and Samuel Prouty. She delighted in her great nieces and nephews, whose antics always brought her joy, fun and laughter: Abigail, Ethan, Brody, Ryan and Maya Faucher, Audrey Faucher, Meredith and Miles Prouty. A tireless worker, Karen spent her professional years in the manufacturing industry. Even as her illness progressed, she was always eager to get outside and mow the lawns. In accordance with Karen’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.

LEICESTER: Regina M. “Jeannie” Dolen-Daige, 59, of Pine Avenue in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester died Wednesday, Sept. 25 in her home after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 33 years Kenneth J. Daige, a son Jesse D. Daige of Cherry Valley, a daughter Alison B. Daige of Somerville, a brother John P. Dolen, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Cherry Valley, two sisters Patricia A. Bisson of Hanahan, South Carolina and Kelly J. Dolen of Leicester, a brother-in-law Thomas J. McDonough, III of Leicester and several nieces and nephews.

Jeannie was born in Worcester, daughter of John P. and Roberta H. (Power) Dolen, Sr. She graduated from Leicester high School in 1972. She was a switchboard operator for many years at the Fallon Clinic retiring due to illness and prior to that worked at the Telegram & Gazette. She was an avid card player and loved to travel. She enjoyed spending time with her family. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent Hospital, The Meadows of Leicester and the VNA Care Hospice.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, Sept. 30th at 10:00 AM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 1:00-4:00 PM on Sunday Sept. 29th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be the Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
